Penn State Wins 31-30 in OT in New Era Pin Stripe Bowl

The Nittany Lions, in their 1st Bowl Game since the Sandusky scandal, beat Boston College 31-30, in overtime, in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

Christian Hackenberg completed 34 of 50 passes for 371 yards and 4 touchdowns for Penn State.

Tyler Murphy threw just 19 passes for the Eagles and completed 11 of them for 97 yards and 2 TDs. Murphy also had 11 caries for 105 yards and a touchdown as Boston College rushed for 285 yards. Jon Hilliman was the leading rusher for Boston College with 25 carries for 148 yards and a touchdown.

The game came down to a missed PAT by Boston College's Mike Knoll.
