Hector Estrada - Rojos del Aguilas de Veracruz Manager 2015

Hector Estrada, the newest manager of the Red Eagles of Veracruz, began playing baseball in the Mexican League in 1986. Estrada played for 23 years as a catcher and 1st baseman for 11 different teams. In the years 2000-2007, Hector hit .255 with 57 home runs and 246 RBIs.

In 2000, Estrada hit 19 home runs and drove in 83 for the Leones de Yucatan. His .356 batting average in 1991 for the Diablos Rojo de Mexico was his best. Either the pitching was poor or the baseballs were juiced because Estrada finished 18th in the league in batting that year.

He began his managerial career while still a player for the Vaqueros de Laguna taking over the reigns late in the 2005 season. Estrada became the player-manager for the Piratas de Campeche in 2007, his last year as a player. He managed the Piratas until part way through the 2010 season when he assumed the duties as field boss for the Vaqueros de Laguna.

Hector was the 3rd base coach for the Diablos Rojo de Mexico for the 2011 and 2012 seasons prior to being named as the manager of the Guerreros de Oaxaca in 2013. Estrada would manage the Guerreros until the end of the 2014 season. He became the manager of the Rojos del Aguilas in the fall of 2014.
