Charros Have Lost 7 Games in a Row

LAST WIN FOR JALISCO ON NOVEMBER 6th

On Monday the 5th of November the Charros de Jalisco were tied with the Venados de Mazatlan for 1st place in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP). Since then the Charros have been a textbook example of futility.

Jalisco beat Mazatlan on the 6th but have lost 7 games straight since then and fallen to last place in the league with a 12-16 record, 5 games behind Culiacan in the first half of the LMP season.

The Aguilas de Mexicali and the Naranjeros de Hermosillo have shut out the Charros in 4 straight games. If you take into account the first game of the series with the Aguilas, where the Charros did not score until they scored 2 runs in the 9th, Jalisco has been held scoreless for 44 out of 45 innings.

The Charros, in getting shut out for four straight games, 36 scoreless innings, were held to 14 hits. They were pitiful with runners in scoring position going an abysmal 1 for 31 (.032) in those situations.

Although the pitching wasn't bad per say, without run support even Jacob DeGrom would find it tough to win a game.

If the Charros expect to contend in the second half of the season the hitting must improve by leaps and bounds.
