The Dominican born Eddie Diaz has been named as the Manager of the Toros de Tijuana for the 2015 season.

Diaz began a playing career in the NY Yankees organization in 1980 and spent two years in the Cleveland Indians farm system from 1983-1984. He maintains a connection with the big leagues through his scouting ties with the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians.

The Cafeteros de Cordoba named Diaz their interim manager in 1999 to begin a long and productive career as a manager in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol and the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico. Eddie took over a Guerreros team in 2009 that languished in the cellar of the LMB and in 2010 had achieved an 18 game turn around, taking a 42-63 team to a record of 60-45 and a finals spot in the LMB that year. For his efforts, Diaz was named Manager of the Year.

The Venados de Mazatlan, of the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico, chose Diaz as their manager in 2009 where he managed for one year before moving on to the Yaquis de Obregon in 2010. His stay in Obregon brought three consecutive league championships to the Yaquis and in 2011 and 2013, Diaz led the Yaquis to championships in the Serie de Caribe. Diaz became the first non Mexican manager in the LMP to win three championships.
