The Diablos got a run back in their half of the 6th on singles by Jesus Fabela, Carlos Figueroa and Juan Carlos Gamboa to cut the lead to 5-4.

Oaxaca's Erick Rodriguez drew a lead off walk in the top of the 7th inning. Yordanys Linares singled. With one out and runners on first and second, Mexico intentionally walked Henry Urrutia to load the bases. Dustin Geiger waited out a walk of his own to force in Rodriguez. Julian Ornelas followed with a single to score Linares and Urrutia for the 8-4 lead and the Zona Sur Championship.
Julian Ornelas

The Diablos manager, Victor Bojorquez was ejected during the inning for arguing balls and strikes. After Michael Choice was called out on strikes in the bottom of the 7th, he too was ejected for arguing with home plate umpire, Daniel Rubio.

Ozzie Mendez (1-0) picked up the win in relief for the Guerreos while Patrick Johnson (1-1) gave up the big inning to Oaxaca to take the loss.

Julian Ornelas went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs for Oaxaca while team mates Henry Urrutia was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBIs and Yordanys was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored.
