Eagles Trade LeSean McCoy To Bills For Kiko Alonso

The Philadelphia Eagles, it seems, have traded a star running back, LeSean McCoy, to the Buffalo Bills for 3rd year linebacker Kiko Alonso.

Eagles coach, Chip Kelly, seems to want to rebuild the Eagles with Oregon Duck grads. Just this week we have heard that Kelly wants to trade up to take Ducks' QB Marcus Mariota in the 2015 draft.

First, let's see what McCoy has done for the Eagles. Drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft, McCoy was the 53rd person taken. In 6 years for the Eagles, LeSean has rushed 1,461 times for 6,792 yards and scored 44 touchdowns. He also caught 300 passes for 2.282 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Kiko Alonso had 159 tackles, 3rd in the league in his rookie season of 2013 but missed the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL. That's it. Those are his stats. His only qualification is that Kelly coached Alonso at Oregon.

A source told ESPN's Adam Caplan that Alonso's rehab has gone very well and he has increased his training activities and has started running.

Although the NFL is perceived as a passing league, tell that to the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. Without a running game, the passing game suffers especially when you have the less experienced QBs such as Mark Sanchez and Nick Foles.

McCoy's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, took to Twitter to say that no deal has yet been finalized.

Meanwhile, Rex Ryan gets the "ground and pound" runner he needs to take the heat off of his quarterbacks, something he lacked while the coach of the NY Jets.
