WALK OFF SINGLE BY CEDRIC HUNTER WINS IT FOR HERMOSILLO

The game looked like it was over after the bottom of the 1st inning when Hermosillo scored 7 times but Mazatlan answered with 6 runs of their own in the top of the 2nd and tied the game at 7 with a run in the top of the 4th.

After falling behind 10-7 in the 8th, the Venados tied the game again in the top of the 9th. Alex Liddi doubled to center to score Asael Sanchez. Liddi went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground ball out. Sherman Johnson singled, stole second and scored on a single by Edson Garcia.

With the score tied at 10, neither team was able to score through the top of the 13th.

In the bottom half of the 13th, Jasson Atondo reached on a fielding error and went to second on a single by Danny Espinosa. After Roberto Ramos struck out for out number 2, Cedric Hunter stroked a 2-1 pitch to left for a single that scored Atondo with the winning run.

The two teams used 21 pitchers in the game with the Venados using 11 and the Naranjeros using 10. This set a new Liga Mexicana del Pacifico record for the number of pitchers used (by both teams) in a game. Adrian Rodriguez (1-0) picked up the win for the Naranjeros and Brandon Cunniff (0-1) suffered the loss.

The game took 6 hours and 17 minutes to complete. It's not clear how many of the 12,429 fans that came to Estadio Sonora for the start of the game were there when the game concluded at 1:49 AM local time.

The Naranjeros improved to 4-2 on the season as the Venados fell to 1-5.
