Charros Shutout Again By Navojoa 3-0

21 CONSECUTIVE SCORELESS FOR JALISCO

The Charros offense has been non existent in the first 2 games against the Mayos de Navojoa. Held scoreless in a 1-0 loss on Friday, Jalisco failed to score again on Saturday and fell to the Mayos 3-0.

Diego Madero doubled with 1 out in the bottom of the 2nd for Navojoa and scored 1 out later on a single by Yosmany Guerra. As on Friday the Mayos jumped out to an early lead.

A single by Madero, a sacrifice bunt by Alejandro Gonzalez, a single by Guerra and a triple by Randy Arozarena increased the Mayos lead to 3-0 after 7 innings.

5 times in the game the Charros had runners in scoring position with 2 outs or less and failed to score. The team was 0 for 9 in those situations. In Friday;s contest Jalisco went 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
Alejandro Ortiz Steals 2nd

Daniel Guerrero (2-2) started the game for the Charros but was ejected by the home plate umpire after 1 2/3 innings after arguing balls and strikes. Guerrero gave up a run on 2 hits, walking 2 and striking out 2 to take the loss.

Marco Camarena (1-0) picked up the win, striking out 7 Charros and allowing 3 hits in 5 innings of work. Connor Little earned his 2nd save in 2 attempts for the Mayos.

Michael Choice was 2 for 4 on the night for the Charros. Yosmany Guerra wen 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, Diego Madera 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and Randy Arozarena 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 RBIs for Navojoa.

1 Game remains to be played in Navojoa before the Charros return to Guadalajara on Tuesday the 8th of Nivember to take on the Aguilas de Mexicali for 3 games.

Mazatlán 4, Los Mochis 2

Corey Brown hit a 3 run home run for the Venados in a 4 run 6th inning and Mazatlán held on for the 4-2 win over the Caneros. Isaac Rodriguez went 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored for Los Mochis. Nick Struck (1-1) pitched very well for Mazatlán, striking out 6 and allowing 1 run on 5 hits in the win. Jesus Barraza earned his 1st save of the year. Roy Merritt (2-2) gave up 4 runs on 6 hits in the loss.

Hermosillo 4, Mexicali 1

The Naranjeros got a 3 run home run from Matt Skole and a solo shot from David Washington to top the Aguilas 4-1. Mexicali scored their run on a sac fly by Yordanys Linares that had given the Aguilas an early lead. Juan Pablo Oramas (3-0) went 7 innings on the mound, striking out 3 and giving up a run on 3 hits. Paul Sewald notched his 6th save. Javier Solano (3-2) gave up 3 runs on 7 hits in 6 2/3 innigs to take the loss.

Culiacan 2, Obregon 1

Sergio Contreras hit a solo home run for the Yaquis in the 3rd inning but the Tomateros' Joey Meneses hit a 2 run shot in the 4th as Culiacan beat Obregon 2-1. Ryota Igarashi (1-0), a newly acquired addition to the Culiacan pitching staff struck out 5 Yaquis in 3 innings of work to get the win and Javy Guerra got his 3rd save of the year. Rolando Valdez (0-4) took the loss.

Charros take Series From Mazatlan 2 Games to 1

PITCHING SUPERB AGAIN IN 5-1 WIN

Daniel Guerrero (2-1) worked a masterful 6 2/3 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 6 as the Charros beat the Venados de Mazatlán. Jalisco improved to 9-8 on the year.

Walter Silva (1-3) matched Guerrero for 6 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits including a home run to Manny Rodriguez.

The game was scoreless until the 4th inning until Rodriguez connected for a 1 out solo home run to left for the 1-0 Charros lead.

Mazatlán answered in their half of the 4th on a walk to Corey Brown and a double from Brian Hernandez that drove in Brown with the tying run.

Agustin Murillo drew a 1 out base on balls in the top of the 7th and went to second on a single by Cacao Valdez. Murillo stole third and scored on a sac fly to center by Michael Choice for a 2-1 lead.

The Charros broke open the game with 3 runs in the top of the 9th. Manny Rodriguez singled with 1 out and went to second on a walk to Agustin Murillo. Cacao Valdez singled to drive in Rodriguez as Murillo stopped at second. Fernando Valenzuela followed with a single to score Murillo. The Venados reliever then threw a wild pitch that scored Valdez with the final run of the inning and the eventual 5-1 win.

Rodruguez was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 runs scored, Cacao Valdez 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored and Murillo 1 for 2 with r runs scored for the Charros.

Brian Hernandez went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI for Mazatlán.

There is no game on Monday but the 10-7 Naranjeros de Hermosillo come to Guadalajara on Tuesday the 1st of November for a 3 game series.

Mexicali 9, Obregon 1

Ramon Rios hit a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 1st and the Aguilas never looked back on their way to a 9-1 win over the Yaquis.  Rios was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored while Yunesky Betancourt was 3 for 4 with an RBI and 3 runs scored and Christhian Presichi 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs for Mexicali. Jose Felix went 2 for 4 and Nelson Perez 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Yaquis. Javier Solano (3-1) struck out 5 and gave up a run in 6 1/3 innings to get the win. David Reyes (0-4) took the loss.

Navojoa 3, Culiacan 0

The Mayos scored twice in the 1st inning and a run in the 6th as they shut out the Tomateros 3-0. Jose Oyervides (2-0) struck out 3 and gave up 4 hits while working 6 2/3 innings to get the win for Navojoa. Esteban Haro earned his 3rd save. David Rodriguez (1-2) gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in 5 2/3 innings in the loss. Christian Zazueta was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs for the Mayos. Maxwell Leon was 2 for 4 for Culiacan.

Los Mochis 4, Hermosillo 3

Roy Merritt (2-1) pitched 7 1/3 giving up a home run and 4 hits in the Caneros 4-3 win in Hermosillo. Andres Avila gave up a home run in the bottom of the 9th to make it close but still picked up his 2nd save. Nathanael Santiago (0-1) took the loss. Isaac Rodriguez was 4 for 5 with 2 RBIs and Saul Soto 1 for 4 with a home run for the Caneros. Luis Garcia was 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs while David Washington 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 runs scored for the Naranjeros.
