Naranjeros de Hermosillo Update Their Roster Moves for 10/22

EXTRANJEROS REMOVED FROM TEAM FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT

The Naranjeros de Hermosillo have announce that 3 "extranjeros" (foreigners) have been removed from their roster over a breach of contract.

The players, Bryce Brentz, Ryan Schimpf and Reed Garrett failed to appear for the transportation to the start of a 3 game series with the Tomateros in Culican the, report alleges.

It is not known, nor did the announcement say, if the players missed the team bus or simply failed to show up. It is also not known if the players are still in Hermosillo.

Hermosillo Needs Extra Innings to Beat Mazatlan 3-2

BRYCE BRENTZ WITH A WALK OFF SINGLE IN 10TH

Bryce Brentz drove in all 3 runs for the Naranjeros going 2 for 5 on the night.

After taking a 2-1 lead in the 4th, the Naranjeros looked set to win their second day of the year. Until the top of the 9th that is. Hermosillo was 1 out away from victory when Edson Garcia tripled to right. Garcia scored on a by Asael Sanchez and the game was tied. But the tension wasn't over yet. Mazatlan loaded the bases with 2 outs but Sherman Johnson struck out swinging for the last out and extra innings.

The Venados got a man on in the top of the 10th but a double play ended the inning.

Eric Young Jr. led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jorge Flores. Irving Lopez was intentionally walked. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Jose Amador flew out to short center preventing a tag up play. Roberto Ramos was intentionally walked to set up a force at any base. Bryce Brentz stroked an 0-1 pitch to right that scored Young for the walk off win for Hermosillo.

Wilmer Rios (1-0) was the beneficiary of of the walk off single in getting the win. Reed Garrett was charged with his second blown save of the year. Manny Corpas (0-1) took the loss for Mazatlan.

With the win, Hermosillo improved to 2-6 on the season while the Venados de Mazatlan fell to 5-3.
