The Charros scored 7 runs on 11 hits in beating the Tomateros de Culiacan 7-4 in front of 10,897 hometown fans on Friday. The Charros winning streak is at 5 games, their only defeat of the year coming at the hands of these Tomateros on opening day of the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico season.

Alex Sanabia worked 3 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 6 hits and appeared to suffer an injury while pitching to Joey Meneses, taking a line drive off of his leg. Kenneth Sigman came in to relieve Sanabia and got the final out of the inning. Marco Campoy (1-0) got the win in relief and Brian Broderick picked up his 4th save of the season.

Hector Rodriguez (0-2) gave up 4 runs on 7 hits through 4 innings on the mound to take the loss for Culiacan.

"El Gigante" Doubles
The bottom of the 7th began with controversy. After a single by Manny Rodriguez, Jesus Valdez lined out sharply to center. Rodriguez stole second and scored on a double to left by Japhet Amador for a 5-2 Charros lead.

Sergio Gastelum and Carlos Alvarez hit back to back home runs off of Charros reliever Mario Mendoza in the top of the 8th to cut the Charros lead to 5-4.

Jalisco came right back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 8th inning. Edson Garcia walked and went to second on catcher indifference.
