Charros de Jalisco Outscore Naranjeros 8-5

TEAMS COMBINE FOR 48 HITS AND 30 RUNS IN FIRST 2 GAMES OF THE SERIES

The Charros de Jalisco evened their season record at 2-2 with an 8-5 thrashing of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in Guadalajara. Offense was the watchword last night. The teams combined for 22 hits and 13 runs in a game that took 3 hours and 21 minutes to complete. The Naranjeros fell to 0-4 on the young season.

Hermosillo started the scoring in the top of the 1st with a lead off walk to Eric Young Jr., a single by Danny Espinoza and a run scoring single by Jose Amador to give the Naranjeros a short lived 1-0 lead.

Carlos Figueroa started the bottom of the 1st for the Charros by reaching base on a fielding error. Amadeo Zazueta followed with a single. Manny Rodriguez hit a ground rule double to left to score Figueroa. With 2 on and no outs, Japhet Amador homered on an opposite field line drive to right for 3 runs and the 4-0 lead.

The Naranjeros never recovered and when the dust had settled, Jalisco had the 8-5 win.

Niko Vasquez was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored for Jalisco. Zazueta was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored while Amador had the home run and 3 RBIs.

Danny Espinosa went a perfect 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored while team mate Jose Amador was 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs for Hermosillo.

William Oliver (1-0)got the win and Aaron Kurcz the save for the Charros. Josh Smith (0-1) gave up 7 runs in 4 innings in taking the loss.
