Culiacan scored 4 times in the bottom of the 1st. With 2 outs, Henry Ramos singled and went to third on a single to center by Meneses. Both runners scored on a double by Ryan McBroom. Issmael Salas singled to score McBroom, moving to second on the throw to the plate. Salas scored on a single by Antonio Lamas for the 4-0 lead. As the saying goes, the rout was on!
Pedro Echemendia (0-1), the Caneros starter, gave up 5 runs on 6 hits in 3 innings on the mound to take the loss.
13,155 exuberant fans filled Estadio de los Tomateros to see Culiacan improve to 3-1 on the season as the Caneros de Los Mochis fell to 1-3.
