Yucatán Campeche Derrota 7-1

LEONES AVANZA A ZONA SUR CAMPEONATA

El Leones de Yucatán pasar a las finales de la División del sur de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol Serie del Rey con una convincente victoria 7-1 sobre los Piratas de Campeche el martes por la noche.

Tomas Solis lanzó 7 entradas sólidas en la victoria, lo que limita Campeche a seis hits y 1 carrera y ponchó a 3. Juan Gutiérrez trabajó la octava entrada y Pedro Rodríguez salió a buscar a los Piratas con un noveno sólido. Francisco Campos cargó con la derrota, renunciando a 5 carreras en 6 hits en 4 1/3 entradas.

Yucatán se llevó a Campos rápidamente. Corey Wimberly se acercó para abrir la parte inferior de la 1ª . Un out después, José Aguilar sencillo al jardín derecho. Wimberly marcó y Aguilar terminó en la tercera con un error de lanzamiento por el campo corto Campeche. Aguilar anotó en una jugada de selección por Luis García y los Leones tomó la delantera temprano y nunca miró hacia atrás.

Aguilar consiguió cosas a los Leones de la parte inferior de la quinta con un doble a la izquierda . García siguió con un doble para anotar Aguilar. Tres sencillos, un doble, un bateador golpeado y un fly de sacrificio obtuvieron después de 4 carreras más y Yucatán fue arriba 7-0.

Campeche anotó su única carrera en la parte alta de la séptima con correa de doble al jardín central por José Amador. Amador sería anotó en un sencillo a la derecha por Maxwell León con dos outs. Cualquier esperanza de una jugada por el Piratas terminó cuando el jardinero derecho de Yucatán arrojó detrás de León y lo atrapó demasiado lejos de la primera . León estaba en un resumen 9-3-6-3.

Jesús " Cacao" Valdez fue de 3 por 5 con una carrera anotada y José Aguilar fue de 2 por 5 con una impulsada y 2 anotadas para los Leones.

Engel Beltré se fue 2 por 4 y Maxwell León fue de 2 por 2 con una impulsada por Campeche.

Avances de Yucatán a la final de la Zona Sur contra Pericos de Puebla comenzando con juegos en Mérida el sábado y el domingo. Después de un día de viaje el lunes, la serie se reanuda el martes.

Yucatan Defeats Campeche 7-1

ADVANCE TO ZONA SUR CHAMPIONSHIP WITH WIN

The Leones de Yucatan move on to the southern Division finals of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Serie del Rey with a convincing 7-1 win over the Piratas de Campeche on Tuesday night.

Tomas Solis threw 7 strong innings in the win, limiting Campeche to six hits and 1 run while striking out 3. Juan Gutierrez worked the 8th inning and Pedro Rodriguez finished off the Piratas with a solid 9th. Francisco Campos took the loss, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Yucatan got to Campos quickly. Corey Wimberly walked to lead off the bottom of the 1st. One out later, Jose Aguilar singled to right. Wimberly scored and Aguilar wound up on third on a throwing error by the Campeche shortstop. Aguilar scored on a fielder's choice by Luis Garcia and the Leones took the early lead and never looked back.

Aguilar got things going for the Leones in the bottom of the 5th with a double to left. Garcia followed with a double to score Aguilar. Three singles, a double, a hit batter and a sac fly later scored 4 more runs and Yucatan was up 7-0.
Humberto Solis Hit .412 For Series

Campeche scored their lone run in the top of the 7th on a lead off double to center by Jose Amador. Amador would scored on a single to right by Maxwell Leon with two outs. Any hope of a rally by the Piratas ended when the Yucatan right fielder threw behind Leon and caught him too far off of first. Leon was out on a 9-3-6-3 rundown.

Jesus "Cacao" Valdez was 3 for 5 with a run scored and Jose Aguilar was 2 for 5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored for the Leones.

Engel Beltre went 2 for 4 and Maxwell Leon was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Campeche.

Yucatan advances to the Zona Sur finals against the Pericos de Puebla beginning with games in Merida on Saturday and Sunday. Following a travel day on Monday, the series resumes on Tuesday.

Jesus Valdez' 2 Home Runs Power Leones Past Campeche

Jesus Valdez supplied the power and Jesus Rodriguez (2-1) pitched 5 innings for the Leones scattering 7 hits, allowing 2 runs and striking out 3 in Yucatan's 8-2 win over the Piratas de Campeche Wednesday night in front of 5,678 fans in Merida.

The Piratas scored a run in the top of the 3rd on a single by Jasson Atondo, a sacrifice bunt by Maxwell Leon and a run scoring double to center by Dave Sappelt.

Jesus Valdez tied the game in inning later when he went deep to left center for the solo home run and a 1-1 score.

Jasson Atondo doubled to lead off the top of the 5th for Campeche and scored as Maxwell Leon singled. The Piratas had a 2-1 lead, but not for long.

The Leones roared back in their half of the 5th inning. Willy Aybar led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. Ricardo Serrano singled to drive in Aybar and went to second on a single by Israel Nunez. After a fly ball for the second out, Ivan Araujo singled to score Serrano and give Yucatan it's first lead of the game, 3-2. Hector Gimenez walked to load the bases with two outs. Jesus Valdez then unloaded a grand slam home run to left that cleared the bases and give the Leones a 7-2 lead.

Yucatan scored their eighth run of the game in the bottom of the 8th inning on a walk to Willy Aybar, a Kevin Flores single and a wild pitch on a walk to Ricardo Serrano that scored Aybar from third for the final 8-2 Leones win.

Francisco Campos (2-4) gave up the grand slam and 6 runs on 7 hits in 4 2/3 innings on the mound for the Piratas in the loss.

Jesus Valdez was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs, Ivan Araujo 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored and Willy Aybar 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored for the Leones.

Jasson Atondo went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and Maxwell Leon and Dave Sappelt drove in the Piratas 2 runs.

IN OTHER LMB ACTION:

Aguascalientes 8, Tijuana 1 (1st Game)
The Rieleros scored 6 runs in the 1st two innings on their way to an 11th straight victory as they beat the Toros 9-1. Leobardo Arauz was 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBIs for the Rieleros. Danny Richar had 3 doubles on a 3 for 4 night with 2 RBIs for Aguascalientes. Orlando Lara (4-0) went 6 innings for the win and Barry Enright (0-1) took the loss. CJ Retherford was traded to the Piratas de Campeche prior to the game.

Tijuana 8, Aguascalientes 5 (2nd Game)
Miguel Terrero hit 2 home runs and drove in 4 for the Toros as Tijuana snapped the Rieleros 11 game winning streak with an 8-5 win in the 2nd game of a double header. Maximo Nelson (2-2) had a blown save and took the loss for the Rieleros. Mario Mendoza (1-0) picked up the win in relief and Ramon Ramirez earned his 8th save. Saul Soto hit his league leading 12th home run and drove in his league leading 41st run for the Rieleros.

Mexico 4, Saltillo 4 (Final in 8 innings)
A heavy downpour at the end of the top of the 8th inning caused the game to be called with the score tied at 4. Luis Terrero was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, a home run and 3 RBIs for the Saraperos. Luis Fonseca went 2 for 4 and Sergio Gastelum 2 for 3 for the Diablos Rojos. There was no word on when, or if, the game would be completed.

Monclova 7, Monterrey 4
The Acereros have the current longest winning streak at 5 in a row with the 7-4 win over the Sultanes. Juan Pena (4-1) worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs in the win and Juan Noriega got his 4th save while Marcos Rivas (1-1) took the loss. Olmo Rosario went 2 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBIs and Travis Garcia 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs for Monclova. Ramon Rios had a home run and an RBI for Monterrey. Derek Bryant was let go as manager of the Sultanes following the game. Antonio Aguilera becomes the interim manager for Monterrey.

Veracruz 4, Oaxaca 2
Tomas Solis (2-2) gave up a run on 5 hits to get the win in the Aguila's 4-2 victory over the Guerreros. Starter Sergio Valenzuela (1-3) was charged with the loss. Issmael Salas went 3 for 4 with an RBI, Tony Abreu 2 for 4 and Greg Golson 1 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBIs for Veracruz. Mario Valenzuela was 3 for 3 and both Tim Torres and Erick Rodriguez drove in runs for Oaxaca.

Laguna 8, Tamaulipas 3
Juan Miranda went 4 for 4 with a home run, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored as the Vaqueros topped the Broncos 8-3. Joel Vargas (0-3) gave up 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss for Tamaulipas. Luis Rodriguez (3-0) got the win. JC Linares was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored for Laguna. Travis Denker was 2 for 4 with a home run and Rodolfo Amador 3 for 3 in the loss for the Broncos.

Ciudad del Carmen 8, Quintana Roo 5
The Tigres dropped their 5th straight game when they fell to the Delfines 8-5. del Carmen took the lead, and the game, with 4 runs in the 8th. Henry Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored and Gilberto Mejia was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs for the Delfines. Jesus Espinoza and Jorge Cantu homered for the Tigres in the loss. Roman Rivas (1-0) was the winning pitcher with Josh Lueke getting his 7th save. Jesus Castillo (0-1) had his 4th blown save in the loss.

Puebla 4, Tabasco 1
Hector Galvan (4-1) pitched 7 2.3 innings of 1 run ball and Francisco Cruceta picked up his 1st save in the 4-1 Pericos win over the Olmecas. Amilcar Gaxiola (1-2) suffered the loss. Jon Del Campo, 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and Brent Clevlen, 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored led the Pericos. Christian Quintero was 3 for 4 and Sergio Burruel drove in the lone run for Tabasco.

Culiacan Rebounds, Takes Game 2 of the Series 11-3

The Tomateros de Culiacan got their bats working last night and overpowered the Charros 11-3 behind the pitching of Francisco Campos, who worked 5 innings and gave up 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 4 Charros.

Culiacan jumped out to the lead 2-0 in the top of the 3rd. Max Leon and Eric Farris singled and after Russell Branyan struck out, Issmael Salas drew a walk to load the bases. Arturo Rodriguez then hit a fly ball to right that Leo Heras dropped and Leon and Farris scored.

Ramiro Pena doubled for the Tomateros in the 4th and scored on a single by Rico Noel for a 3-0 lead.

Jalisco would get a run back in their half of the 4th when Jesus Cota doubled and, after a wild pitch, scored on a sac fly by Amadeo Zazueta to cut the lead to 3-1.

Joey Meneses reached on a fielding error by the Charros to lead off the top of the 6th. Sergio Gastelum sacrificed Meneses to second and Meneses scored on a single by Ramiro Pena. Rico Noel hit a 2 run home run to left for a 6-1 Culiacan lead. One out later, Eric Farris hit a solo home run to cap a four run inning and the 7-1 Tomateros lead.

Japhet Amador hit his 12th home run of the year, a solo shot, in the bottom of the 6th and the Charros had narrowed the lead to 7-2.

Manny Rodriguez was hit by a pitch withone out in the bottom of the 7th and came around to score on a Marquez Smith double to left to make the score 7-3 Culiacan.

The Tomateros scored a run in the 8th and added 3 more in the 9th on 2 walks, a ground rule double by Joey Meneses and a run scoring double play ball off the bat of Ramiro Pena for the final score of 11-3.

The Charros did not help themselves in the field, committing 4 errors. They also left 9 men on base for the game and went 1 for 7 with men in scoring position.
