Charros Swamp Mazatlan Venados 11-6

The Charros de Jalisco traveled to Mazatlan to take on the Venados on Tuesday for a three game series. Jalisco won the game 11-6 but the game was tied at 6 after the second inning and it seemed the runs would not stop coming.

With one out in the top of the 1st, Manny Rodriguez singled to center and scored on a double by Leo Heras who went to third on the throw. Japhet Amador singled to score Heras. After Marquez Smith popped up for the second out, CJ Retherford hit a 2 run home run to deep left for the 4-0 Charros lead.

Doug Clark singled for the Venados with one out in the bottom of the 1st. Olmo Rosario drew a base on balls. After a ground out moved both runners up a base, Ricardo Alvarez singled to score Clark and Rosario. Heber Gomez drew a two out base on balls. Charros starter, Ben Kozlowski then uncorked his second wild pitch of the evening to put runners at second and third. Jesus Castillo singled to plate Alvarez and Gomez and the score was tied at 4.

The Charros got right back into scoring mode in the top of the 2nd. With one out Israel Nunez singled and went to second on a single to center by Eduardo Arredondo. Manny Rodriguez doubled to score Nunez and Arredondo. The Charros had regained the lead 6-4.

Not to be outdone, the Venados came storming back in their half of the 2nd. Gilberto Mejia led off with a single and scored one out later on a home run by Olmo Rosario to knot the game at 6 all.

Jalisco took the lead for good in the top of the 6th. CJ Retherford led off with a single to right. Brendan Harris singled. With one out the Mazatlan pitcher, Enrique Lechuga, threw a wild pitch that advanced the Charros runners. Isreal Nunez reached on an error by the third baseman and the bases were loaded. Eduardo Arredondo singled to score Retherford and Manny Rodriguez singled to drive in Harris. With one out and the bases loaded, Leo Heras drew a 6 pitch walk to force in Nunez. The Charros scored three and took a 9-6 lead into the bottom of the 6th.

CJ Retherford led off the top of the 7th for the Charros with a solo home run, his second of the game and third of the year. Brendan Harris followed the home run by Retherford with a triple. Edson Garcia came in as a pinch runner for Harris and scored on a wild pitch by the Venados reliever, Jesus Barraza. The Charros had two more runs on the board and the final 11-6 score.

CJ Retherford had 2 home runs and a single in his 5 trips to the plate, scoring 3 times and driving in 3.  Manny Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Leo Heras was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Brendan Harris went 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored. Eduardo Arredondo was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored and catcher Israel Nunez was also 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored.

The Charros improve to 27-18 overall and 6-4 in the second half of the Liga de Mexicana del Pacifico. The Venados fall to 20-24 with the loss. Two more games with Mazatlan then it's home to face the Aguilas de Mexicali for three games this weekend.

Caneros Shutout Charros 6-0 On Excellent Pitching By Terance Marin

The Caneros de Los Mochis took the third game of the three game series with jalisco, 6-0, behind the outstanding pitching of starter Terance Marin and reliever Andres Avila.

Orlando Lara, of the Charros had a one hitter through four innings. Lara gave up a lead off walk to Yancarlo Angulo to lead off the 5th. Angulo moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Sebastian Valle and scored two batters later on a single by Justin Christian. The Caneros led 1-0.

Terance Marin was pitching a no-hitter until Eduardo Arredondo singled with two outs in the bottom of the 6th. The Charros could not take advantage of the base runner as Manny Rodriguez struck out to end the inning with the Caneros still leading 1-0.

The Caneros added to their lead in the top of the 8th. Greg Golson singled to center to lead off the inning. Juan Gamboa advanced Golson on a sacrifice bunt. Juan Pedroso walked. Adrian Ramirez replaced Mario Mendoza for the Charros and walked Ramon Orantes to load the bases. One batter later, Gloson scored on a single by Yancarlo Angulo. Sebastian Valle then cleared the bases on a grand slam home run to deep center to give the Caneros a 6-1 lead that would hold for the victory.

Jalisco managed just three hits off of Terance Marin and reliever Andres Avila and Eduardo Arredondo had two of them, going 2 for 4 in the loss. The Charros struck out 7 times and didn't receive a free pass all game. Marin picked up the win to move to 1-1 on the year, while Orlando lara took the loss to fall to 4-2 on the season. Lara went 6 2/3 innings giving up just three hits but walking 4 and striking out 4. Charros reliever Adrian Ramirez gave up the grand slam to Sebastian Valle.

The Charros fall to 26-18 overall and 5-4 in the second half of the Liga de Mexicana del Pacifico while the Caneros climb to 24-20 overall.

Culiacan Tops Charros 6-3 to Take Series

Culican took the rubber match of the three game series with the Charros, 6-3, behind starter Hector Rodriguez and five relievers who held Jalisco to three runs on just seven hits.

Jalisco scored in the bottom of the 3rd. Jesus Lopez singled to lead off. Eduardo Arredondo hit a ground ball single to first that scored Lopez on a throwing error by the Tomateros first baseman. The Charros had a short lived lead 1-0.

The Tomateros scored two in the top of the 4th on a solo home run by Garrett Weber, a single by Issmael Salas, a walk to Ramiro Pena and a run scoring single by Ali Solis that scored Salas. Culiacan had retaken the lead 2-1.

The Charros came right back in the home half of the 4th to retake the lead 3-2. Gabriel Gutierrez singled with one out. Amadeo Zazueta reached safely on a throwing error by the third baseman and the runners wound up on 2nd and 3rd. Jesus Lopez hit a sac fly to right to score Gutierrez with Zazueta moving to third. Eduardo Arredondo singled to score Zazueta for the Jalisco lead.

Maxwell Leon led off the 5th for the Tomateros by drawing a walk. Jorge Vazquez singled. Garrett Weber was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Issmael Salas walked to force in Leon and Ramiro Pena singled to score Vazquez. Culiacan had regained the lead 4-3.

Culican would score twice in the top of the 6th on a single by Rico Noel and a 2 run home run by Maxwell Leon to ice the Tomateros victory 6-3.

Alfredo Aceves picked up the win for Culiacan to improve to 2-3 on the year while Graham Godfrey took the loss for the Charros, his first of the year against four wins, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits with 4 walks in his five innings pitched.

With the series loss to Culiacan, the Charros record stands at 18-14. After the day off on Monday, the Charros travel to Navojoa for three games against the Mayos beginning on Tuesday the 18th of November.

Charros Overpower Hermosillo 11-2

The Naranjeros de Hermosillo hosted the Charros de Jalisco in the first game of a three game series on Tuesday night in Hermosillo, and came up on the losing end of an 11-2 ball game.

Jalisco scored first in the top of the 4th. Leo Heras hit a solo home run to give the Charros a 1-0 lead over Hermosillo. In the bottom of the 4th, with two outs, Matt Padgett singled and Yunesky Sanchez followed with a single to left. Sebastian Elisade singled to score Padgett and the score was tied at 1.

Marquez Smith hit a home run to lead off the 5th for Jalisco. With one out, Gabriel Gutierrez was hit by a pitch and went to third on a single by Jesus Lopez. Eduardo Arredondo then placed a perfect squeeze bunt between the pitcher and first that scored Gutierrez. The Charros led 3-1.

In the top of the 6th, with one out, Cory Vaughn singled and Marquez Smith walked. Jesus Cota singled to score Vaughn and Gabriel Gutierrez doubled to score Smith as the Charros upped their lead to 5-1.

The Naranjeros scored a run in the bottom of the 6th on a sac fly by Yunesky Sanchez to narrow the lead to 5-2 Charros.

The Charros scored three times in the top of the 7th on singles by Eduardo Arredondo and Manny Rodriguez and Leo Heras' three run home run to give jalisco an 8-2 lead.

Leo Heras hit a solo home run in the top of the 9th, his third of the game and the 7th of the season, to give Jalisco a 9-2 lead. Japhrt Amador followed the home run with a single and Cory Vaughn doubled to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Jesus Cota singled to score Amador and Vaughn and the Charros lead was 11-2.

Hermosillo went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th and Graham Godfrey had posted his fourth win of the season for Jalisco. Roy Corcoran took the loss for the Maranjeros to fall to 2-2 on the year.

Leo Heras was 3 for 4 with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Japhet Amador, Cory Vaughn and Jesus Cota all went 2 for 5 on the night.

Graham Godfrey went 6 innings giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 his, one walk and 2 strike outs. His ERA dropped to 1.55 on the year.

Two more games with Hermosillo before the weekend matchup with the Tomateras de Culiacan in Zapopan.

Caneros Even Series With Charros with 5-4 Win

Orlando Lara started well for the Carros, giving up just one hit over the first two innings. In the bottom of the third though, it was a different story.

Emmanuel Avila led off the inning being hit by a pitch. Avila moved to third when Rodolfo Amador reached safely, and went to second, on throwing error by Lara on a sacrifice bunt. Antonio Lamas, tonight a Charros killer with 4 RBIs, then cleared the bases with a 3 run home run to left for the 3-0 Caneros lead. The Caneros then loaded the bases before Lara got Yancarlo Angulo to fly out to center to end the inning and avoid further damage.

The Charros got a run back in the top of the 4th. Gabriel Gutierrez reached second safely on a throwing error by the Caneros' shortstop. A ground ball to short moved Gutierrez to third who then scored on a single by Jose Felix to cut the Caneros lead to 3-1.

Jalisco took the lead in the top of the 5th, scoring three runs. Eduardo Arredondo and Manny Rodriguez singled and came around to score on Cory Vaughn's third home run of the year, a three run shot that put the Charros ahead 4-3.

The score remained 4-3 Charros until the bottom of the 7th. Rodolfo Amador singled to right to lead off the inning for los Mochis. Justin Christian sacrificed Amador to second. Ken Sigman came on in relief for the Charros and gave up a single to the first batter he faced, Antonio Lamas, that scored Amador to tie the game at 4.

The Caneros took the lead for good in the bottom of the 8th. With one out, Sandy Madera reached, and moved to second on a throwing error by Jesus Lopez. Brian Burgamy was intentionally walked. After a pitching change for the Charros, Ernesto Molinet doubled to score Madera and the Caneros had the 5-4 lead and the final margin of victory.

Manuel Flores took the loss for the Charros to fall to 0-1 on the year. Orlando Lara saw his ERA climb from 0.57 to 1.31 with the 2 earned runs he allowed. Andres Avila got the win for los Mochis.

The Caneros are now 9-10 on the season, still 3 1/2 games behind Mazatlan while the Charros fall to 11-8, a game and a half game out of the lead.

These two teams play the rubber match of the series today in los Mochis before the Charros return home to take on the league leading Venados de Mazatlan in a crucial three game set beginning on Tuesday the 4th of November.

Charros Shutout los Mochis 1-0 to Take Game 1

Jalisco won their 2nd game in a row by defeating the Caneros de los Mochis 1-0 last night behind the superb pitching of Marco Tovar and three relievers. Tovar picked up the win, to go 2-0 on the year, while Adrian Ramirez and Ivan Salas recorded holds and Brian Broderick pitched the last 1 1/3 innings for his 6th save of the year.

The Charros bats were held in check all night by Caneros' starter Luis Niebla. Reliever Oscar Verdugo took the loss to drop to 2-1 on the season.

The Charros were held to just 4 hits for the game but the made the most of two of them. Oscar Verdugo started the 6th in relief of Niebla for the Caneros and gave up a lead off double to Gabriel Gutierrez. Jesus Lopez then beat out a sacrifice bunt to the catcher and the Charros had runners on first and third with no outs. Eduardo Arredondo hit a sac fly to right to score Gutierrez for the only run of the game and the 1-0 Charros victory.

Marco Tovar gave up all 6 Caneros hits but didn't allow a run and dropped his ERA to 2.25 on the year. Tovar walked one and struck out 6. The Charros' relievers did not allow a hit over their 3 innings of work.

Luis Niebla, for los Mochis, allowed just one hit over 5 innings and no runs while walking 1 and striking out 4. Niebla faced just 1 batter over the minimum during his time on the mound.

Back in the lead off spot for the Charros, Eduardo Arredondo went 2 for 3 with the game winning sac fly RBI, his 13th on the year. Both Gabriel Gutierrez and Jesus Lopez were 1 for 3 on the night.

Manny Rodriguez, though 0 for 4 in the game, is 2nd in batting in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico with a .351 average and Jesus Lopez is 9th at .317. Rodriguez is tied for 2nd with 27 hits and tied for the league lead with 9 doubles. Japhet Amador is 9th with 20 hits and Leo Heras is tied for 2nd in doubles with 6. Cory Vaughn is 2nd in the league with 2 triples while Marquez is tied for 2nd with 4 home runs. Eduardo Arredondo has 13 RBIs, good for 4th and Japhet Amador has 12 RBIs.

Marco Tovar's 2.25 ERA is good for 9th overall in the league and Ben Kozlowski is at 4.26. Brian Broderick's 6 saves place him 2nd in that category while Tovar's 18 Ks rank him in a tie for 3rd in the league.

The Charros de Jalisco have two games remaining with los Mochis before returning home to face the Venados de Mazatlan for three games beginning on Tuesday the 4th of November at 7PM at Panamerican Park in Zapopan.

Jalisco is 1/2 game behind Mazatlan with an 11-7 record while the Caneros fall to 8-10, 3 1/2 games off the lead.

Yaquis Take 2nd Game From Charros 8-4

The Yaquis de Obregon took the second game of the three game series with the Charros by an 8-4 score after leading 8-0 entering the bottom of the 9th.

In the top of the 2nd, Carlos Valencia doubled to left and went to third when Donald Lutz grounded out to second. Albino Contreras followed with a single and Valencia scored for the early 1-0 lead for the Yaquis.

Obregon added a run in the top of the 4th on a solo home run by Said Gutierrez for a 2-0 Obregon lead.

The Yaquis scored twice more in the top of the 5th when Donald Lutz homered after Carlos Valencia drew a walk with two outs. 4-0 Yaquis.

With one out in the top of the 6th, Carlos Figueroa singled but was caught stealing second. Jake Smolinski homered to left, the third home run by Obregon on the evening. Obregon up 5-0.

In the top of the 8th, with one out, Albino Contreras doubled to left and after Said Gutierrez struck out, Contreras scored on a single by Carlos Figueroa and the Yaquis had increased their lead to 6-0.

Obregon got a man on in the top of the 9th when Dean Anna was hit by a pitch with two outs. Carlos Valencia followed with a triple to score Anna and Donald Lutz doubled to score Valencia. The Obregon lead looked insurmountable at 8-0.

The Charros put runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs in the bottom of the 9th on singles by Cory Vaughn and Ivan Araujo. Jesus Lopez singled to load the bases. Eduardo Arredondo followed with a single to score Vaughn and Araujo as the Charros avoided their first shutout of the season and cut the lead to 8-2. Manny Rodriguez, 2 for 5 on the night, doubled to left to score Lopez and Arredondo and the Obregon lead was down to 8-4. Leo Heras struck out swinging to end the inning and the game.

The Charros fall to 9-7 on the year while Obregon climbs to 9-6, 1/2 game ahead of Jalisco and tied with the Venados de Mazatlan for the league lead.

Charros Sweep Mexicali With 2-1 Win

The Charros swept the three game series with the Aguilas de Mexicali Eagles with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon, Family Day at Panamerican Stadium.

The pitching was very good by the starters for both teams. Orlando Lara, starter for the Charros went 5 complete innings allowing 3 hits, no runs, 4 base on balls while striking out three. Omar Espinoza of the Aguilas went 6 innings without allowing a run while giving up 4 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Espinoza lowered his ERA to 1.04 on the year.

In the top of the 7th, with one out, the Aguilas' Gil Valezquez singled to center. Chris Roberson then doubled to left center that scored Valezquez. Roberson stole third but the Charros reliever, Murphy Smith, got Walter Ibarra to ground out to second and Xorge Carrillo to ground out to first to end the inning but the Aguilas had the 1-0 lead.

Jalisco tied the score in the bottom of the 8th. Mario Meza, on in relief, gave up a double to Jesus Lopez with one out. Jose Sanchez replaced Meza for the Aguilas. Sanchez threw a wild pitch that got Lopez to third. Eduardo Arredondo hit a sac fly to left that plated Lopez and the score was 1-1.

Brian Broderick came on in relief to pitch the 9th for the Charros and he pitched another 1-2-3 9th inning. He would pick up the win when the Charros scored in the bottom of the 9th.

Marquez Smith grounded out to short to lead off the 9th for the Charros. Cory Vaughn was hit by a pitch and immediately stole second. Amadeo Zazueta singled to center to score Vaughn and the Charros had their second walk off win in as many games.

Orlando Lara lowered his ERA to 0.57 and Brian Broderick, with the win, is now 2-0 with 5 saves and an ERA of 1.08 on the year.

Marquez Smith was 2 for 4 with a double while Manny Rodriguez went 2 for 4 to bring his batting average to .362 on the year. Eduardo Arredondo, although 0 for 3, had the game tying sac fly in the 8th. Jesus Lopez went 1 for 3 with a double to maintain his .333 average on the season while Amadeo Zazueta went 1 for 2 with the game winning RBI.

The Yaquis de Obregon come to Zapopan for a three game series beginning on Monday the 27th of October. With the win today the Charros are 9-5 on the year, tied with the Venados de Mazatlan for the league lead.

Charros Drop Series To Navojoa

The Charros dropped the third game of the 3 game series with the Mayos de Navojoa 5-4 on Thursday night to drop to 6-5 on the year. Jalisco lost the series 2 games to 1.

Jalisco scored in the top of the 1st on a double by Manny Rodriguez and a single by Leo Heras to take the early 1-0 lead.

Navojoa came back in their half of the inning to score three times. Jose Chavez led off with a single against Charros starter Ben Kozlowski. Jon Weber doubled with Chavez stopping at third. Luis Fonseca doubled to score Chavez and Weber. Chris Marrero walked and a wild pitch by Kozlowski on the walk put runners on the corners with no outs. Rolando Acosta grounded into a 5-4-3 double play that scored Fonseca and the Mayos took the lead 3-1.

Cory Vaughn led off the Charros 2nd with a single but Ivan Araujo grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to erase Vaughn. Jose Felix walked and Jesus Lopez singled as Felix moved to third on a throwing error by the Mayos' shortstop. Eduardo Arredondo doubled to score Felix and Lopez and the score was tied at 3.

Navojoa retook the lead in the bottom of the 3rd on a single by Jose Chavez, a ground out by Jon Weber that moved Chavez to second and a single by Luis Fonseca that scored Chavez. Navojoa led 4-3.

In the top of the 6th, Cory Vaughn walked with one out but got picked off first. Ivan Araujo singled and went to second on a single by Jose Felix. Jesus Lopez followed with a single as Araujo scored and the Charros had tied the game again at 4 apiece.

Hugo Castellanos was pitching for the Charros to start the bottom of the 8th. He struck out Reggie Ambercrombie for the first out but gave up back-to-back singles to Eliseo Aldazaba and Diego Madero. Murphy Smith relieved Castellanos and gave up a single to pinch hitter Fernando Flores that scored Aldazaba with what would prove to be the winning run.

The Charros got 12 hits on the night. Japhet Amador was 2 for 5. Manny Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Jesus Lopez was also 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Leo Heras went 1 for 5 with an RBI and Eduardo Arredondo was 1 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Ben Kozlowski lasted 5 innings but gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 1 and walking 3. He saw his ERA climb to 4.02 on the year. Hugo Castellanos took the loss, his first of the year, and his ERA shot up to 12.27 for the season.

Hugo Gutierrez got the win for the Mayos and Gene Escat picked up his 2nd save of the year.

Charros Defeat Tomateros de Culiacan 9-5

After Friday's 3-1 loss at Culiacan, the Charros came out with bats blazing on Saturday. They scored 9 runs, their highest output of the year, on 14 hits, also a high for the season, as they beat the Tomateros de Culiacan 9-5.

Graham Godfrey picked up the win with 5 strong innings of 1 hit, one run pitching. The one hit that he did give up was a home run to Oscar Robles.

The Jalisco hitters gave Godfrey plenty of run support in the top of the 1st, scoring three runs on four hits. Eduardo Arredondo started things off with a single to left. After Leo Heras popped up to second, Manny Rodriguez doubled and Arredondo went to third. Japhet Amador doubled to score Arredondo and Rodriguez and the Charros had a 2-0 lead. Marquez Smith singled to center and Amador stopped at third. Cory Vaughn followed with a sac fly to right that scored Amador to increase the Charros' lead to 3-0.

Graham Godfrey got one out in the bottom of the 1st before giving up the solo home run to Oscar Robles. The Jalisco lead was 3-1.

In the top of the 3rd, Manny Rodriguez singled with one out. Japhet Amador singled to left. Marquez Smith singled to left and Rodriguez was thrown out at home trying to score from second. A wild pitch by Tomateros pitcher, Alfredo Aceves, put Amador and Smith in scoring position. Cory Vaughn singled to drive in Amador and Smith. Jalisco had a 5-1 lead after three innings.

Jesus Lopez scored for the Charros in the top of the 4th. After singling to lead off the inning, Lopez went to third on a single by Amadeo Zazueta and scored as Eduardo Arredondo hit into a 4-6-3 double play. The Charro lead was 6-1.

Antonio Garzon started the 6th for the Charros in relief of Godfrey. Garzon got Oscar Robles to ground out to second and Issmael Salas to fly out to left. Nick Buss reached on a single off of the pitcher's leg. Arturo Rodriguez doubled to right and Buss scored. Ken Sigmen relieved Garzon and gave up a 2 run home run to pinch hitter Jorge Vazquez. Culiacan had cut the Charros lead to 6-4.

The Tomateros scored another run in the bottom of the 7th when Joey Meneses scored on a single by Sergio Gastelum that brought Culiacan to within one run of Jalisco at 6-5.

Marquez Smith hit a solo home run in the top of the 8th and the Charros had an insurance run and the 7-5 lead.

In the top of the 9th, the Charros put the game away by scoring two runs. Manny Rodriguez hit his third double of the night to drive in Amadeo Zazueta and Leo Heras for the final score of 9-5 Charros.

Manny Rodriguez was 4 for 5 on the night with 3 doubles, 2 RBIs and a run scored. Japhet Amador went 2 for 5 with a double, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Marquez Smith was 3 for 5 with a home run, an RBI and 2 rubs scored.Cory Vaughn was 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Amadeo Zazueta, playing in his first game for the Charros, went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Brian Broderick pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief for his second save of the season.

Charros Lose to Naranjeros 8-3

The Charros de Jalisco dropped the third game of the three game series with Hermosillo by a score of 8-3. Jalisco dropped to 3-2 on the year while Hermosillo climbed to 3-2.

Juan Delgadillo took the loss for Jalisco, his second of the year. Delgadillo gave up 5 runs on 8 hits with 4 walks and 2 home runs.

Roy Corcoran picked up the win in relief for the Naranjeros. Juan Oramas started the game for Hermosillo and held Jalisco to 3 runs on 5 hits though 4 2/3 innings of work.

The Naranjeros scored two runs in the top of the 1st on back-to-back home runs by Carlos Gastelum and Sebastian Elizalde.

Jalisco got a run back in the bottom of the 1st. Manny Rodriguez singled and moved to second when Leo Heras drew a walk. Japhet Amador then singled to score Rodriguez and the Charros had cut the lead to 2-1.

Hermosillo scored another run in the top of the 2nd on a walk to Jerry Owens and a double by Sebastian Elizalde that scored Owens. Hermosillo led 3-1.

The Charros scored two times in the bottom of the 2nd.  Cory Vaughn drew a walk and stole second. Wilson Batista grounded out with Vaughn moving to third. Gabriel Gutierrez doubled to left that scored Vaughn. Eduardo Arredondo followed with a single to score Gutierrez and tie the game at 3.

Adan Munoz led off the 3rd for Hermosillo with a double. With one out Jorge Flores singled and took second on the throw to third trying to get Munoz. Jerry Owens singled and Munoz scored with Flores moving to third. Carlos Gastelum hit a sac fly to right that scored Flores and the Naranjeros had a 5-3 lead they would not relinquish.

Hermosillo scored one run in the 6th and two more in the 8th for the final margin of victory, 8-3.

Manny Rodriguez and Japhet Amador were both 2 for 4 with Amador getting an RBI. Gabriel Gutierrez was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Eduardo Arredondo had the other RBI for the Charros.

Venados de Mazatlan leads the Liga de Mexicana del Pacifico standings at 4-1 with four teams at 3-2, two teams at 2-3 and Mayo de Navojos remains winless at 0-5.

The Charros de Jalisco (3-2) travel to Culiacan today to take on the Tomateros de Culiacan (2-3).
