Charros Open Season With 18-9 Win Over Tomateros

If the Charros de Jalisco were looking to make a statement in the opening game of the 2016-17 Liga Mexicana del Pacifico winter league, they did. They pounded out 20 hits, including a home run by Mario Valenzuela and 6 doubles in the 18-9 trouncing of the Tomateros de Culiacan. You can't expect this type of explosive output every day but it was fun to watch.

Jalisco sent 13 men to the plate in the bottom of the 1st inning and scored 9 runs. The first 8 batters reached base safely. They had 5 singles, a double and 2 reached on errors by the Culiacan infield. With 5 runs already across and the bases loaded, Amadeo Zazueta cleared the bases with a double to right center to make it 8-0 and Manny Rodriguez followed with his second double of the inning to drive in Zazueta for the 9-0 Charros lead.

After the Charros starter, Kyle Simon gave up 3 singles to load the bases in the top of the 3rd inning, Joey Meneses, the Tomateros first baseman, made him pay by hitting a long grand slam to right. Culiacan cut the Charros lead to 9-4 with one swing of the bat.

The Charros answered in their half of the inning. Zazueta was hit by a pitch, Manny Rodriguez singled and both runners scored on a double by Art Charles.

With 3 more runs in the 4th, the Charros upped their lead to 14-4. Mario Valenzuela hit a 2 run home run in the inning and Manny Rodriguez drove in a run with his third double of the game.

Jalisco added a run in the 5th when Cacao Valdez reached on an error, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Valenzuela.

Things were quiet until the bottom of the 8th inning. 4 consecutive singles, a walk and a run producing ground ball double play by Art Charles increased the Charros lead to 18-5.

The relief pitching in the 9th for the Charros got off badly when Aaron Kurcz gave up 2 singles, walked a batter and, after getting an out, gave up a ground rule double to Ronnier Mustelier for 3 runs. A single by Sebastian Elisalde scored Mustelier to cut the lead to 18-9 but that was all and the Charros de Jalisco had the opening day victory.

Kyle Simon picked up the win with a shaky 5 innings in which he gave up 5 runs on 8 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. He gave up the grand slam to Meneses.

Charros Celebrate the Win

Edgar Gonzalez did not record an out in the losing effort. He gave up 8 runs on 6 hits before being replaced by Jose Medina.

Manny Rodriguez was 5 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored and Amadeo Zazueta went 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored for the Charros.

Ronnier Mustelier went 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs for the Tomateros. Sebastian Elizalde was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and Joey Meneses 1 for 3 with the grand slam.

The Charros travel to Culiacan to take on these same Tomateros on Thursday and then Obregon to face the Yaquis for games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Charros return home on Tuesday the 18th to host the Caneros de Los Mochis.

IN OTHER LMP ACTION:

Hermosillo 3, Obregon 2

Erik Young Jr. homered in the 1st inning and the Naranjeros held on to defeat the Yaquis 3-2. Clell Hobson hit a home run for Obregon in the 7th inning to cut the lead to 3-2 but that was the end of the scoring. Joseph Colman picked up the win, giving up a run on 4 hits over 5 innings. Paul Sewald notched his 1st save of the year for Hermosillo. Rolando took the loss for Obregon. He gave up all 3 runs on 3 hits in his 5 innings on the mound.

Navojoa 4, Los Mochis 3

Hector Velazquez worked 5 innings for the Mayos, striking out 8 Caneros to get the win for Navojoa. Kyle Grana made it close in the 9th, giving up a run but held on to pick up the save. Luis Niebla took the loss, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings. Yosmany Guerra was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 runs scored for Navojoa. Alejandro Gonzalez was also 2 for 3 for the Mayos. Leandro Castro was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored for the Caneros

Venados Comience Defensa de LMP Título 7-1 con Triunfo Sobre Mexicali

La 2015-16 de la Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (LMP) Campeón Venados de Mazatlán comenzó la defensa de su título el 11 de octubre con un rotundo 7-1 derrota de los Águilas de Mexicali.

Que lleva las Águilas 2-1 entrar en la parte inferior de la sexta entrada, la ciudad natal Venados anotó 5 carreras a soplar abrir un partido cerrado.

Mazatlán saltó a una ventaja temprana en su mitad de la segunda entrada, en una caminata de Corey Brown y un jonron run 2 izquierdo y central por Brian Hernández. Venados 2, Aguilas 0.

El Águilas tiene una carrera de vuelta en la parte superior de la cuarta con un sencillo de Ramón Ríos, un doble por CJ Retherford, un bateador golpeado y una fuerza que a primera anotó Ríos. 2-1 Mazatlán.

Venados Begin Defense of LMP Title with 7-1 Win Over Mexicali

5 RUN 6TH INNING FOR MAZATLAN

The 2015-16 Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) Champion Venados de Mazatlan began the defense of their title on the 11^th of October with a resounding 7-1 defeat of the Aguilas de Mexicali.

Leading the Aguilas 2-1 entering the bottom of the 6^th inning, the hometown Venados scored 5 runs to blow open a close game.

Mazatlan jumped out to an early lead in their half of the 2^nd inning on a walk to Corey Brown and a 2 run home run to left center by Brian Hernandez. Venados 2, Aguilas 0.

The Aguilas got a run back in the top of the 4^th on a single by Ramon Rios, a double by CJ Retherford, a hit batter and a force out to first that scored Rios. 2-1 Mazatlán.

The Venados exploded in the bottom of the 6^th inning, sending 9 men to the plate and scoring 5 times. Heber Gomez and Samar Leyva doubled in the inning as the Venados built a 7-1 lead.

Walter Silva pitched 5 innings for the Venados allowing the only Mexicali run in picking up the win while the Aguila’s Edgar Osuna gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, including a home run, in his 5 innings of work to take the loss.

Ramon Rios was 3 for 4 with a run scored for Mexicali while Brian Hernandez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs for the Venados.

The remaining 6 LMP teams will be in action on the 12^th of October as the Charros host the Tomateros, the Yaquis are at home against the Naranjeros and the Caneros de Los Mochis visit Navojoa to take on the Mayos.

Charros de Jalisco 2016-17 Liga Mexicana del Pacifico Schedule

The Charros de Jalisco begin play in their 3^rd season with the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) 2016-17 season with a home game against the Tomateros de Culiacan on the 12^th of October. Jalisco plays it’s home game in the Estadio de Beisbol in Zapopan by the TelMex Auditorio. According to the Charros’ home page, single game tickets will become open to the public on the 3^rd of October. Tickets will be available either on TicketMaster or at the stadium between the hours of 10AM and 3PM Monday through Friday

There will be 34 home games for the Charros and 34 games on the road.

In October, in addition to the home opener on the 12^th, the Charros play 3 games against the Caneros de Los Mochis, the 18^th-20^th and 3 games against the Tomateros the 21^st-23^rd.

November 1^st through the 3^rd, the Charros face the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. The 8^th-10 have the Aguilas de Mexicali in town. The Yaquis de Obregon arrive in Guadalajara for 3 games from the 11^th-13^th. The Aguilas return for 3 games November 21st-23^rd with the Venados de Mazatlan rounding out the November schedule with 3 games on the 24^th through the 26^th.

The Liga Mexicana del Pacifico will be reviving its All Star game this year. There has not been an all star game in the league for 20 years. The format for selecting the players has not been determined yet but the game will be held on the 27^th of November in Ciudad Obregon.

December finds the Charros at home the 2^nd-4^th against the Mayos de Navojoa. The 13^th-15^th brings the Yaquis back to town. The Naranjeros return from the 16^th-18^th and the season winds up with the Charros at home against the Tomateros de Culiacan on the 28^th, 29^th and 30^th of December.

Puebla se lleva a casa la Copa Zaachila en 6 juegos por encima de Tijuana

De la serie Juego 6 de la serie de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol Campeonato fue uno para el aficionado al béisbol . La única cosa que podría haber hecho que sea más emocionante que habría tenido un juego 7. Como se suele decir , ninguno de los equipos merecía perder ; pero , siempre hay un ganador y un perdedor . En este caso, el Pericos llegó a la cima y llevar a la "Copa Zaachila " de vuelta a casa a Puebla. El Toros de Tijuana debe mantener la cabeza alta colectiva ya que lucharon duro en una serie de duelos de la lanzadora de partidos cerrados . Ver la celebracion Pericos aqui.

Ambos lanzadores fueron excelentes . del Perico Travis Blackley se llevó la victoria , mientras que del Toro Barry Enright cargó con la derrota . Chad Gaudin recogió la excepción de los Pericos .

Enright , aunque permitiendo que los corredores de base en todo menos en la cuarta entrada, dispersa 7 hits y ponchó a 5. único error de Enright llegó en un terreno de juego 2-2 a Daric Barton en la parte superior de la 6ª . Barton conectó un cuadrangular se eleva al punto muerto para dar Puebla una ventaja de 1-0 . Enright dejó el juego con 2 outs en el séptimo inning después de tirar 103 lanzamientos. Blackley igualada terreno de juego Enright para el lanzamiento. Blackley era perfecta, a 3 2/3 entradas antes de dar una base por bolas a Olmo Rosario y un sencillo a Dustin Martin . Antes de salir después de la octava entrada, Blackley se rendiría 2 impactos al caminar 2 y ponchando a 6 toros. Chad Gaudin lanzó la novena para Puebla para guardar el juego.

Puebla Takes Home Copa Zaachila in 6 Games Over Tijuana

TRAVIS BLACKLEY NAMED SERIES MVP

Game 6 of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Championship series was one for the baseball fan. The only thing that could have made it more exciting would have had it a game 7. As the saying goes, neither team deserved to lose; but, there is always a winner and a loser. In this case, the Pericos came out on top and carry the "Copa Zaachila" back home to Puebla. The Toros de Tijuana should hold their collective head high as they fought hard in a series of pitcher's duels and close games. Watch the Pericos celebration.

Both pitchers were excellent. The Perico's Travis Blackley got the win while the Toro's Barry Enright took the loss. Chad Gaudin picked up the save for the Pericos.

Enright, though allowing base runners in all but the 4th inning, scattered 7 hits and struck out 5. Enright's only mistake came on a 2-2 pitch to Daric Barton in the top of the 6th. Barton hit a towering home run to dead center to give Puebla a 1-0 lead. Enright left the game with 2 outs in the 7th inning after throwing 103 pitches. Blackley matched Enright pitch for pitch. Blackley was perfect through 3 2/3 innings before giving up a walk to Olmo Rosario and a single to Dustin Martin. Before leaving after the 8th inning, Blackley would surrender 2 hits while walking 2 and striking out 6 Toros. Chad Gaudin pitched the 9th for Puebla to save the game for Blackley.

Puebla added an insurance run in the top of the 9th. Sergio Perez, Puebla's DH who was 3 for 4 on the night, doubled to lead off the inning. Pinch runner Oscar Sanay moved to third on a ground out by Alberto Carreon and scored 1 out later on a single by Nyjer Morgan for a 2-0 Pericos lead.

Tijuana had an opportunity to score in the bottom of the 9th. Roberto Lopez led off the inning with a single and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Alex Romero. Emmanuel Valdez's ground ball to second got Lopez to third but Jose Chavez flew out to left to end the inning and the game.

Puebla Hits 4 cuadrangulares en 8-5 triunfo sobre Tijuana

Pericos LEAD SERIE DEL REY 2 juegos a 1

Los Pericos de Puebla se llevó jonrones solitarios de Cesar Tapia , Manny Rodríguez , Rubén Rivera y Daric Barton al principio de los Toros de Tijuana en el juego 3 de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol " Serie del Rey ".

Mauricio Lara lanzó 7 entradas con efectividad , permitiendo 1 vuelta con 8 hits. Lara se acercó 2 y ponchó a 4 en conseguir la victoria . Chad Gaudin ponchó a 2 en una novena entrada perfecta para apuntarse el salvamento . Alex Sanabia tenía que cargar con la pérdida después de permitir 5 carreras con 5 hits, incluyendo carreras de casa, 2 en 4 1/3 entradas de trabajo .

Tijuana anotó la primera carrera del juego en la parte superior de la 3ª en dobles espalda con espalda de Isaac Rodríguez y José Chávez .

Puebla volvió a tomar la delantera en la parte inferior de la entrada en cuadrangulares por Barton y Rivera .

Fly de sacrificio de nyjer Morgan para centrar y un doble de Manny Rodríguez agregó 2 carreras para los Pericos en el 4to turno .

The Pericos de Puebla got solo home runs from Cesar Tapia, Manny Rodriguez, Ruben Rivera and Daric Barton to top the Toros de Tijuana in game 3 of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol "Serie del Rey"

Mauricio Lara tossed 7 effective innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. Lara walked 2 and struck out 4 in getting the win. Chad Gaudin struck out 2 in a perfect 9th inning to notch the save. Alex Sanabia was saddled with the loss after allowing 5 runs on 5 hits, including 2 home runs, in 4 1/3 innings of work.

Manny Rodriguez Turns Two

Tijuana scored the first run of the game in the top of the 3rd on back-to-back doubles by Isaac Rodriguez and Jose Chavez.

Puebla retook the lead in the bottom of the inning on home runs by Barton and Rivera.

Nyjer Morgan's sac fly to center and a double by Manny Rodriguez added 2 runs for the Pericos in the 4th  inning.

Two more runs scored by the Pericos in the bottom of the 5th increased the Puebla lead to 6-1.

A solo home run by Manny Rodriguez, on a 2-2 pitch leading off the bottom of the 6th, made the score 7-1 Puebla.

The Toros exploded for 4 runs in the top of the 8th inning. Dustin Martin's third home run of the series, a 3 run blast to left center closed the gap to 7-4. Carlos Valencia followed, one out later, with a solo home run to left. Pericos 7, Toros 5.

Puebla got an insurance run in their half of the 8th on a solo home run by Cesar Tapia.

Game 4 will be played on Sunday with game 5 on Monday.

Toros Tome el Juego 1 de la Serie del Rey con Walkoff triunfo sobre Pericos

DUSTIN MARTIN HITS primer bate, Walkoff HR EN LA PARTE INFERIOR DE LA 9 DE.

Ambos abridores lanzaron maravillosa de béisbol en un duelo de lanzadores en el juego 1 de la Serie del Rey el miércoles por la noche en Tijuana. Horacio Ramírez de los Toros limita el Pericos de 4 hits en 6 entradas y ponchó a 5, pero no participó en la decisión. Juan Sandoval lanzó 2 entradas sin hits en relieve para recoger la victoria.

El lanzador de arranque Pericos, Orlando Lara llevó a cabo el Toros de 2 hits en sus 8 entradas completas en el montículo ponchando a 4 mientras se camina 5. Lara lanzó 135 lanzamientos en el primer partido de la Serie del Rey. Tijuana no tuvo un pasado la segunda base del corredor hasta que el 9 de entrada. Carlos Bustamante entró en relevo de Lara y renunció a la delantera despegue hogar de Martin para tomar la pérdida.

Tijuana realiza un juego de 1 a ninguna ventaja en la serie. Ramírez logró salir de un atasco en la parte superior de la 1ª. Toros Take Game 1 of Serie Del Rey With Walkoff Win Over Pericos

DUSTIN MARTIN HITS LEADOFF, WALKOFF HR IN BOTTOM OF THE 9TH

Both starting pitchers pitched wonderful baseball in a pitchers duel in game 1 of the Serie del Rey on Wednesday night in Tijuana. Horacio Ramirez of the Toros limited the Pericos to 4 hits over 6 innings while striking out 5, but was not involved in the decision. Juan Sandoval pitched 2 hitless innings in relief to pick up the win.

The Pericos starter, Orlando Lara held the Toros to 2 hits in his 8 complete innings on the mound striking out 4 while walking 5. Lara threw 135 pitches in the Serie del Rey opener. Tijuana did not get a runner past second base until the 9th inning. Carlos Bustamante came on in relief of Lara and gave up the lead off home run to Martin to take the loss.

Tijuana takes a 1 game to none lead in the series.

Ramirez pitched out of a jam in the top of the 1st. With one out, Willy Taveras and Manny Rodriguez singled to put runners on the corners. Ramirez struck out Ruben Rivera and Daric Barton to get out of the inning. Puebla threatened again in the top of the 9th. Rivera drew a lead off walk and stole second. with two outs, Luis Suarez was walked intentionally. Alberto Carreon grounded into a force at second to end the inning.

Game 2 of the series will be played on Thursday night with the series shifting to Puebla for games 3, 4 and 5.

Yucatán Campeche Derrota 7-1

LEONES AVANZA A ZONA SUR CAMPEONATA

El Leones de Yucatán pasar a las finales de la División del sur de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol Serie del Rey con una convincente victoria 7-1 sobre los Piratas de Campeche el martes por la noche.

Tomas Solis lanzó 7 entradas sólidas en la victoria, lo que limita Campeche a seis hits y 1 carrera y ponchó a 3. Juan Gutiérrez trabajó la octava entrada y Pedro Rodríguez salió a buscar a los Piratas con un noveno sólido. Francisco Campos cargó con la derrota, renunciando a 5 carreras en 6 hits en 4 1/3 entradas.

Yucatán se llevó a Campos rápidamente. Corey Wimberly se acercó para abrir la parte inferior de la 1ª . Un out después, José Aguilar sencillo al jardín derecho. Wimberly marcó y Aguilar terminó en la tercera con un error de lanzamiento por el campo corto Campeche. Campeche anotó su única carrera en la parte alta de la séptima con correa de doble al jardín central por José Amador. Amador sería anotó en un sencillo a la derecha por Maxwell León con dos outs. Cualquier esperanza de una jugada por el Piratas terminó cuando el jardinero derecho de Yucatán arrojó detrás de León y lo atrapó demasiado lejos de la primera . León estaba en un resumen 9-3-6-3.

Yucatan Defeats Campeche 7-1

ADVANCE TO ZONA SUR CHAMPIONSHIP WITH WIN

The Leones de Yucatan move on to the southern Division finals of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol Serie del Rey with a convincing 7-1 win over the Piratas de Campeche on Tuesday night.

Tomas Solis threw 7 strong innings in the win, limiting Campeche to six hits and 1 run while striking out 3. Juan Gutierrez worked the 8th inning and Pedro Rodriguez finished off the Piratas with a solid 9th. Francisco Campos took the loss, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Yucatan got to Campos quickly. Corey Wimberly walked to lead off the bottom of the 1st. One out later, Jose Aguilar singled to right. Wimberly scored and Aguilar wound up on third on a throwing error by the Campeche shortstop. Aguilar scored on a fielder's choice by Luis Garcia and the Leones took the early lead and never looked back.

Aguilar got things going for the Leones in the bottom of the 5th with a double to left. Garcia followed with a double to score Aguilar. Three singles, a double, a hit batter and a sac fly later scored 4 more runs and Yucatan was up 7-0.

Humberto Solis Hit .412 For Series

Campeche scored their lone run in the top of the 7th on a lead off double to center by Jose Amador. Amador would scored on a single to right by Maxwell Leon with two outs. Any hope of a rally by the Piratas ended when the Yucatan right fielder threw behind Leon and caught him too far off of first. Leon was out on a 9-3-6-3 rundown.

Jesus "Cacao" Valdez was 3 for 5 with a run scored and Jose Aguilar was 2 for 5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored for the Leones.

Engel Beltre went 2 for 4 and Maxwell Leon was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Campeche.

Yucatan advances to the Zona Sur finals against the Pericos de Puebla beginning with games in Merida on Saturday and Sunday. Following a travel day on Monday, the series resumes on Tuesday.

Leones Duran Mas Piratas 6-5

4 CARRERA PRIMERA ENTRADA MOSCAS GANAN

El Leones de Yucatán usa un paseo, 4 sencillos y un doble por regla en la parte superior de la 1ª entrada para anotar 4 carreras y saltar en frente de un equipo Piratas de Campeche que se negó a darse por vencido. Campeche marcó su camino de vuelta a dentro de un plazo, pero el rally corto y los Leones tomar unas 3 juegos a 2 plomo de regreso a Mérida para el partido del martes 6 al 23 de agosto.

Campeche anotó 2 de sus propias carreras en la parte baja de la entrada en un cuadrangular solitario por Engel Beltré, un doble por CJ Retherford y un sencillo de José Amador para poner el marcador 4-2.

Cada equipo anotó una carrera en el segundo. Yucatán anotó con un elevado de sacrificio de Luis García y los Piratas consiguió un cuadrangular solitario de Yosmany Guerra.

Los únicos errores cometidos por Campeche se produjo en la parte superior de la 4ª. Diego Madero llegó en un error por el campo corto Piratas y fue al segundo en un intento fallido falta de emulsión . Madero puntuaría con un sencillo de José Aguilar. Que se ejecutan demostró ser crucial en la Victoria.

CJ Retherford tuvo la oportunidad de dar a los Piratas una ventaja en la parte inferior de la 6ª . Campeche había anotado una carrera en 3 sencillos y después de una sola de Guerra llenó las bases, Retherford enviado un campo opuesto a largo volar bola a la derecha que fue capturado en la valla por el jardinero derecho. Dos pies hacen la diferencia entre un grand slam y un fly de sacrificio . El marcador era 6-5 Leones.

Los relevistas de Yucatán hicieron el resto, el cierre de la infracción Campeche el 1 hit en los últimos 3 2/3 entradas.

Los Leones tomar un 3 juegos a 2 en la División Sur de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol.

José Aguilar y Kevin Flores eran 2 a 5 para los Leones  Yosmany Guerra fue 3 a 5 con una carrera de casa , Retherford 2 por 4 y José Amador 2 de 3 para los Piratas.

Yoanner Negrín recogió su segunda victoria de los playoffs y Pedro Rodríguez consiguió la excepción de Yucatán. Jorge Castillo sufrió la pérdida de Campeche.

Cesar Carrillo y 4 relevistas blanqueada de los Vaqueros en 5 golpes. Wirfin Obispo logró su 1er parada de los playoffs. Salvador Valdez lanzó bien pero se cargó con 2 carreras limpias en la toma de la pérdida. Los Sultanes tiene sencillos productores de Ramón Ríos y Alex Valdez para anotar sus carreras.

Leones Outlast Piratas 6-5

4 RUN 1ST INNING SPARKS WIN

The Leones de Yucatan used a walk, 4 singles and a ground rule double in the top of the 1st inning to score 4 runs and jump out in front of a Piratas de Campeche team that refused to give up. Campeche clawed their way back to within a run but the rally short and the Leones take a 3 games to 2 lead back to Merida for game 6 on Tuesday the 23rd of August.

Campeche scored 2 of their own runs in the bottom half of the inning on a solo home run by Engel Beltre, a double by CJ Retherford and a single by Jose Amador to make the score 4-2.

Each team scored a run in the 2nd. Yucatan scored on a sac fly by Luis Garcia and the Piratas got a solo shot from Yosmany Guerra.

The only mistakes made by Campeche came in the top of the 4th. Diego Madero reached on an error by the Piratas shortstop and went to second on a botched pickoff attempt. Madero would score on a single by Jose Aguilar. That run proved crucial in the win.

CJ Retherford had a chance  to give the Piratas a lead in the bottom of the 6th. Campeche had scored a run on 3 singles and after Guerra's single loaded the bases, Retherford sent a long opposite field fly ball to right that was caught at the fence  by the right fielder. Two feet made the difference between a grand slam and a sac fly. The score was 6-5 Leones.

The Yucatan relief pitchers did the rest, shutting down the Campeche offense on 1 hit over the final 3 2/3 innings.

The Leones take a 3 games to 2 in the South Division of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol.

Jose Aguilar and Kevin Flores were both 2 for 5 for the Leones. Yosmany Guerra went 3 for 5 with a home run, Retherford 2 for 4 and Jose Amador 2 for 3 for the Piratas.

PIRATAS GOLPEAR 5 JON RONS EN LA VICTORIA

Los playoffs de la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol están en plena marcha . El Pericos de Puebla , Sultanes de Monterrey y los Toros de Tijuana avanzaron a las finales de sus respectivas divisiones con barridos 4 juego más de sus oponentes.

La única desempate en juego es la que existe entre los Leones de Yucatán y los Piratas de Campeche . Gracias a una victoria de juego 4 en Campeche, los Piratas han igualado la serie en 2 juegos cada uno . Juego 5 se jugará el domingo 21 de agosto y luego cambiar de nuevo a Mérida para los juegos 6 y 7 un juego si es necesario.

CJ Retherford puso las cosas que van para los Piratas con un cuadrangular solitario en la parte inferior de la 1ª para una ventaja de 1-0. Campeche anotó 4 veces más para tomar una ventaja de 5-0. Retherford fue 2 a 5 con 3 impulsadas para los Piratas en la victoria 11-7.

Los Leones anotaron 6 carreras en la parte superior del cuarto para tomar una ventaja de 6-5 con el gran golpe una casa de 2 corren a cargo de Humberto Sosa . Yucatán agregó un seguro de correr en la parte superior de la quinta para una ventaja de 7-5 . Campeche tiene una carrera de vuelta en su mitad de la quinta en un passed ball . Henry Alejandro Rodríguez empató el partido con un cuadrangular solitario en la parte inferior de la 7ª entrada.

Jesús Arredondo abrió la parte baja de la octava de Campeche con un solo y dio la vuelta para anotar en un cuadrangular por Engel Beltré. Yosmany Guerra siguió con un sencillo y anotó con el segundo cuadrangular de Retherford del juego como los Piratas construyó un 11-7 plomo y la victoria.

Los dos equipos se combinaron para utilizar 14 lanzadores en el juego , siete por cada lado . 45 lanzadores fueron utilizados por los equipos de playoffs 8 ayer por la noche , un promedio de 11,2 por partido lanzadores . Johan Yan se llevó el triunfo en el alivio de Campeche mientras que Mario Meza fue acusado de un salvamento desperdiciado por Yucatán y Juan Gutiérrez cargó con la derrota.

Toros 2 , 1 Acereros  

Alex Sanabla permitió 4 hits en 6 entradas en el montículo mientras camina 2 y ponchando a 2 para obtener la victoria para los Toros . La Acereros , corredores LMB del año pasado hasta , logró una corrida en un hogar solitario de Uriak Márquez en la derrota. El Toro de 2 carreras llegaron en la parte baja de la sexta entrada en un home run run 2 por Alex Romero . Alex Caldera tomó la pérdida por Monclova . El toros barrió la Acereros y se enfrentará al Sultanes de Monterrey en los finales de la División.

Sultanes 9 , Vaqueros 4

En el barrido 4 juego de los Vaqueros de Laguna , los Sultanes superaron a Laguna 38-13 . Monterrey anotó 7 carreras en la cuarta entrada y poniendo el juego. Arturo Rodríguez tenía el gran éxito de la entrada, un cuadrangular 3 corren hacia la izquierda . Ramón Ríos fue de 3 por 5 en la noche con 2 impulsadas para Monterrey . Jerome Peña tuvo un cuadrangular solitario para el Vaqueros y Ruben Sosa se ​​fue 3 por 5. Mario González se llevó la victoria a pesar de permitir 4 carreras y 10 hits en 5 turnos . Walter Silva duró 3 entradas renunciar a 7 carreras y 10 hits en la derrota. Con el barrido , los Sultanes se enfrentarán a los Toros de Tijuana en los finales de la División Norte de la LMB.

Peubla avanza a la ronda final de las eliminatorias de la División Sur de la LMB contra cualquiera de Campeche o Yucatán . Issmael Salas y Cesar Tapia eran 2 por 4 para los Pericos y Daric Barton fue de 1 a 4 con un home run 2 plazo. Carlos Gastelum y Alfredo Amézaga ambos fueron 3 de 4 para los Tigres .

PIRATAS HIT 5 HOME RUNS IN WIN

The Liga Mexicana de Beisbol playoffs are in full swing. The Pericos de Puebla, Sultanes de Monterrey and the Toros de Tijuana all advanced to the finals of their respective divisions with 4 game sweeps over their opponents.

The only playoff up for grabs is the one between the Leones de Yucatan and the Piratas de Campeche. Thanks to a game 4 win in Campeche, the Piratas have evened the series at 2 games apiece. Game 5 will be played on Sunday the 21st of August and then shift back to Merida for games 6 and a game 7 if necessary.

CJ Retherford got things going for the Piratas with a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st for a 1-0 lead. Campeche scored 4 more times to take a 5-0 lead. Retherford went 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs for the Piratas in the 11-7 win.

The Leones scored 6 runs in the top of the 4th to take a 6-5 lead with the big blow a 2 run home run by Humberto Sosa. Yucatan added an insurance run in the top of the 5th for a 7-5 lead. Campeche got a run back in their half of the 5th on a passed ball. Henry Alejandro Rodriguez tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Jesus Arredondo led off the bottom of the 8th for Campeche with a single and came around to score on a home run by Engel Beltre. Yosmany Guerra followed with a single and scored on Retherford's second home run of the game as the Piratas built an 11-7 lead and the victory.

The two teams combined to use 14 pitchers in the game, seven by each side. 45 pitchers were used by the 8 playoff teams last night, an average of 11.2 pitchers per game. Johan Yan got the win in relief for Campeche while Mario Meza was charged with a blown save for Yucatan and Juan Gutierrez took the loss.

IN OTHER LMB PLAYOFF ACTION

Toros 2, Acereros 1

Alex Sanabla allowed 4 hits in 6 innings on the mound while walking 2 and striking out 2 to get the win for the Toros. The Acereros, last year's LMB runners up, managed a run on a solo home run by Uriak Marquez in the loss. The Toro's 2 runs came in the bottom of the 6th inning on a 2 run home run by Alex Romero. Pericos 7, Tigres 5

The Pericos de Puebla scored 4 times in the top of the 8th inning to take a 7-6 lead. Chad Gaudin allowed a lead off single in the bottom of the 9th but then struck out the side to preserve the win for Carlos Bustamante. Josh Judy suffered the loss for the Tigres. Quintana Roo, the 2015 LMB Champions, scored 4 times in the 5th inning to take a 5-2 lead but couldn't hold on and, with the loss, were swept by the Pericos. Peubla advances to the final round of the Sur Division playoffs of the LMB against either Campeche or Yucatan. Issmael Salas and Cesar Tapia were 2 for 4 for the Pericos and Daric Barton was 1 for 4 with a 2 run home run. Carlos Gastelum and Alfredo Amezaga both went 3 for 4 for the Tigres.

Charros de Jalisco 2016-17 LMP Schedule

Although there are still 2 months to go, it’s not too early to point out that the Charros de Jalisco begin play in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) 2016-17 season with a home game against the Tomateros de Culiacan on the 12^th of October.

There will be 34 home games for the Charros and 34 games on the road.

In October, in addition to the home opener on the 12^th, the Charros play 3 games against the Caneros de Los Mochis, the 18^th-20^th and 3 games against the Tomateros the 21^st-23^rd.

On November 1^st through the 3^rd, the Charros face the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. The 8^th-10 have the Aguilas de Mexicali in town. The Yaquis de Obregon arrive in Guadalajara for 3 games from the 11^th-13^th. The Aguilas return for 3 games November 21st-23^rd with the Venados de Mazatlan rounding out the November schedule with 3 games on the 24^th through the 26^th.

The Liga Mexicana del Pacifico will be reviving its All Star game this year. There has not been an all star game in the league for 20 years. Although the format for selecting the players has not been determined yet the game will be held on the 27^th of November in Ciudad Obregon.

December finds the Charros at home the 2^nd-4^th against the Mayos de Navojoa. The 13^th-15^th brings the Yaquis back to town. The Naranjeros return from the 16^th-18^th and the season winds up with the Charros at home against the Tomateros de Culiacan on the 28^th, 29^th and 30^th of December.

Charros To Begin 3rd Season in Guadalajara

The Charros de Jalisco are set to begin their third season in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) on the 12^th of October against the Tomateros de Culiacan.

Estadio de Beisbol Charros de Jalisco remains their home stadium. The stadium, situated near the Telmex Auditorio, is actually in Zapopan. The stadium, which seats 13,000 was built for the 2011 Pan American games held in Guadalajara and is a gorgeous facility.

In 2014, under then manager Juan Navarette, the Charros finished 2^nd to the Tomateros in the LMP Championships. 2015 saw a drop in pitching efficiency and the Charros fell to 6^th in the league, sneaking into the playoffs on the final day of the season. Pitching problems continued to plague the team as they were swept by the Aguilas de Mexicali in the first round of the playoffs.

Homar Rojas, who took over as manager of the Charros with 9 games remaining in the 2015 season, has an offensive juggernaut at his disposal. The Charros led the league in slugging percentage (.423), doubles (132) and RBIs with 308. Jesus Valdez led the league in hitting with a .347 average and Amadeo Zazueta was second at .335. Although leaving the team early to prepare for a season of Japanese baseball, Japhet Amador led the league in HRs (14), RBIs (48) and slugging percentage (,558). Manny Rodriguez  led the league in doubles with 20.

In an attempt to improve the starting pitching, the Charros drafted 9 pitchers for the 2016 season. It can be assumed that not all of the pitchers from 2015 will be invited back. The Mexican leagues limit the number of “extranjeros”, foreigners on a team to six. This includes all non Mexicans. An interesting note about this year’s draft, the Charros selected Nyjer Morgan. You may recall him in the big leagues as the guy who always talked to himself in the field and used the third person to talk about himself in interviews.

As in all leagues, the hometown fans have their favorites. Manny Rodríguez (El Capitán), Eduardo Arredondo (El Mosco), Amadeo Zazueta, Alex Liddi (El Italiano), Jesús Valdez (Cacao) and Japhet Amador (El Gigante) all fan favorites. The fans clamor to the Charros side of the field before the games to get signatures and pictures for all of their favorites.

The Charros open with the Tomateros at home for 1 game and then travel for 5 games. The first home stand begins on the 18^th of October with 3 games against the Caneros de Los Mochis and 3 with the Tomateros de Culiacan.

Charros Para Comenzar Tercera Temporada En Guadalajara

El Charros de Jalisco estan listo para comenzar su tercera temporada en la Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) el 12 de octubre contra los Tomateros de Culiacan.

Estadio de Beisbol Charros de Jalisco sigue siendo su propio estadio, situado cerca del Auditorio Telmex, es en realidad en Zapopan. El estadio, con capacidad para 13,000 fue construido para los Juegos Panamericano 2011 celebrados en Guadalajara y es una instalacion magnifico.

En 2014, bajo el entonces gerente Juan Navarette, los Charros termino segundo a los Tomateros en el Campeonato de LMP. 2015 vio una caida en la eficiencia de lanzadores y los Charros cayo al sexton en la liga, colarse en los el ultimo dia de la temporada. Problemas de pitcheo continuaron afectando al equipo, ya que fueron barridos por los Aguilas de Mexicali en la primera ronda de los playoffs.

Homar Rojas, quien asumio come gerente del Charros con 9 partidos restantes en la temporada de 2015, tiene una porencia ofensiva a su disposicion. El Charros encabezo la liga en porcentaje de slugging (.423), dobles (132) y carreras impulsadas con 308. Jesus Valdez lidero la liga en bateo con promedio de .347 y Amadeo Zazueta fue segundo con .335. Liga Mexicana del Pacifico Para Comenzar Temporada 2016 el 11 de Octubre

La Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP) esta programada para comenzar otra temporada de beisbol inviernalen el oeste de Mexico. El dia de apertura es el 11 de octubre con el partido entre el campeon del ano pasado Venados de Mazatlan y el sequndo clasificado Aguilas de Mexicali que se realizara en Mazatlan.

Beisbol inviernal en Mexico, y la LMP en concreto, ha estado presente, de una forma u otra, desde 1947. El ano pasado, los fanaticos hicieron girar los torniquetes a razon de 9,500 por partido para un total annual 2.968 millones, un incremente del 12%. Eso hace que el numero de LMP la liga menor con mejor asistencia fuera de los Estados Unidos de America. Tenian mas fanaticos por partido que el equipo 16 de la liga de verano de Mexico.

Los aficianados aprovecharon el clima mas frio de invierno para ver a sus heroes locales golpe, echada y el campo de su camino hacia el Campeonato y la oportunidad de representar a Mexico en la Serie Caribe. El ano pasdo le Venados de Mazatlan, en representacion de Mexico, gano la Serie Caribe sin perder un juego.

Varios notables Grandes Ligas han jugado en la LMP. Ganador del premio Cy Young Fernando Valenzuela, Vinny Castilla y Pedro Guerrero por nombre solo algunos.

La temporada de LMP consta de 68 juegos divididos en dos mitades. La primera mitad es de 35 juegos de longitud y equipos reciben puntos en funcion de su registro. Hay desempate tales como carreras anotodas para determinar los puntos de la mitad. La segunda consta de 33 juegos con los puntos obtenidor de una manera similar.

Un extrano de la LMP despues de la temporada, los jugadores de los equipos eliminado pueden ser redactado por los equipos en los playoffs. Este fenomeno se produce depues de la primera y segunda ronda eliminaciones tambien.

Un gran jugador para el equipo de la temporada regular ultimo lugar podria encontrarse a si mismo en el clup de campeonato y jugar por Mexico en la Serie Caribe.

Como funciona un sistema de playoffs 6 equipos de trabajo que usted pide? Los seis equipos juegon una serie de primera ronda el mejor de siete con los tres ganadores de avanzar a la ronda semifinal. De los tre equipos perdedores en la primera ronda, el equipo con el mejor record avanza a la ronda semifinal. El equipo de “mejor perdador” no puede hacer frente al equipo que los elimino en la promera ronda.

Campeon del ano pasado Venados de Mazatlan vino de la catagoria de “mejor perdador”.

Todos los juegos de duplicacacion son un formato al mejor de siete. La cabeza de serie mas alta consigue 2 primeros juegos en casa, viaja por los juegos 3-5 y vuelve a casa para los juegos 6 y 7 si es necesario.

La LMP se compone de 8 equipos. El Charros de Jalisco (Guadalajara), Venados de Mazatlan, Tomateros de Culiacan, Caneros de Los Mochis, Mayos de Navojoa, Yaquis de Obregon, Naranjeros de Hermosillo y los Aguilas de Mexicali.
